What Type of Journaler or Crafter are you? - Rachel The Turtle Journal

What Type of Journaler or Crafter are you?

Do you identify with these different types of journaling or paper-crafting? You may resonate with more than one of these types of crafting and journaling - I'm sure there are so many more too!

Traditional
The traditional journaling style is clean and simple, with a focus on the written word. The layout is typically linear, with the text aligned in neat columns. This style of journaling is ideal for those who want to document their thoughts and experiences in a clear and concise way.

Creative
The creative journaling style is all about self-expression and creativity. The layout is often more chaotic, with photos, drawings, and other elements scattered throughout the pages. This style of journaling is ideal for those who want to use their journal as a canvas for their creativity. This is also probably a good description of Art Journaling or Collage.

My most popular craft bundle is a mixture of scrapbooking and journaling ephemera - perfect for all these paper-based examples of crafting. Add this bundle to your collection and incorporate some of the vintage style and feel into your next self-care crafting time. Shop here. Bullet
The bullet journaling style is all about efficiency and organization. The layout is typically very simple, with short, concise entries arranged in neat bullet points. This style of journaling is ideal for those who want to keep track of their thoughts and experiences in a quick and easy way… with the freeform creativity thrown in there, cause there are no ‘rules’ or structure, you make it what you want and what you love!

Travel
The travel journaling style focuses on documenting your travels and experiences in a creative way. This style of journaling is ideal for those who want to capture the memories of their travels in a creative and unique way. Adding ephemera or memorabilia of your travels is key here – because those small pieces that may mean nothing to anyone else, are memory triggers for you when you look back over your Travel Journal.

Gratitude
The gratitude journaling style focuses on documenting things that you are grateful for in your life. This style of journaling is ideal for those who want to focus on the positive aspects of their life and cultivate an attitude of gratitude, often to help with relaxation and self-care.

Vision Board
The vision board journaling style focuses on creating a visual representation of your goals and dreams. The layout is typically chaotic, with photos, drawings, graphs and figures like sales goals or income goals. This style of journaling is ideal for those who want to create a tangible representation of their dreams.

Scrapbooking
Traditional scrapbooking is a popular style that focuses on creating beautiful pages with a wide variety of embellishments. Scrapbooks created in this style often have a vintage or antique feel, and many people enjoy the challenge of finding just the right paper and embellishments to create their vision. Traditionally centred around family photos and memory keeping, this is still a massively popular crafting and journaling practice because it can inspire the creation of family heirlooms or keepsakes to pass along to family members as gifts, with records of childhood and memories together.

Digital journaling
Digital journaling is a style that has become increasingly popular due to the ease of use and flexibility it offers. In this style, notebooks and scrapbooks are created using software on a computer, tablet, or phone. This allows for endless possibilities in terms of design, as well as the ability to easily share finished pages with friends and family.

Project life scrapbooking
Project life scrapbooking is perfect for those who want to document their everyday lives in a simple and efficient way. In this style, pages are typically created using pre-designed templates and cards, which make it quick and easy to add photos and journaling without having to worry about design details. This system is also great for those who want to be able to look back at their life in chronological order, as each page documents one week (or month) at a time. The brand Project Life was made popular a couple of decades ago, and the concept nowadays is maybe more represented in using a pre-set out or structured book/journal/scrapbook that you can purchase and simply add your photos into, without the need to start from a blank page. Crafters find success quicker with this style of journaling because much of the pre-craft has been done for you!
